The Summer Photography Campaign
After the successful winter photography and video production project RoShambo and I completed for Lake City, we were excited to embark on a new photography venture showcasing the town's summer tourism. Our models for this project were a wonderful family from Gunnison, and we set out early in the morning to capture the essence of Lake City's summer charm. Our agenda included mountain biking on local trails, savoring delicious ice cream in town, and experiencing the tranquility of stand-up paddleboarding on Lake San Cristobal.
Entering Lake City was like stepping into a remote region of Europe. We were in awe and wonder at the beautiful views, which featured towering peaks rising from valley floors. The setting made for a dreamy backdrop for our photos, and we were keen to capture the character of this picture-perfect town.

Making It Work
One of the challenges I often face is finding the balance between pushing the models to capture that one more incredible shot and ensuring they have time to catch their breath and relax. It's a delicate dance that requires intuition and empathy.
At the end of the day, I believe everyone had a great time. The assignment gave us a chance to do something exceptional for the town's marketing committee and an opportunity to explore the nature's treasures tucked away in Colorado's San Juan Mountains. This photography adventure served as a reminder of the power of visual storytelling in introducing viewers to the wonders of nature and the joy of shared experiences. I have a special place in my heart for Lake City, and am honored to have had the chance to contribute to its unique tourism industry.
